NAPALM DEATH: 'The Wolf I Feed' Video Released
July 6, 2012"The Wolf I Feed", the new video from British/American grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH, can be seen bleow. The clip was filmed by Tim Fox (TESSERACT, SKINDRED) and incorporates perfectly the meaning of the song.
Commented NAPALM DEATH singer Mark "Barney" Greenway: "This is one of Mitch's [Harris, guitar] lyrics. It is about Armageddon ideology and the way this is used to drive populations sensitive towards religious dogma. When they can fear 'The Great Satan', that is, of course, a very powerful tool. It can be used to propagate everything from racial suspicion and superiority, to wars based around the dogmatic quest for moral purification."
"The Wolf I Feed" comes off NAPALM DEATH's latest album, "Utilitarian" which sold around 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
NAPALM DEATH's previous album, 2009's "Time Waits For No Slave", opened with around 1,800 units to land at No. 19 on the Heatseekers chart.
"Utilitarian" was released on February 27 in Europe and February 28 in North America via the band's longtime partner, Century Media Records. The cover artwork (see below) perfectly fits the album's theme and was created by the Danish artist Frode Sylthe, who is also responsible for THE HAUNTED's "rEVOLVEr" artwork.
